JULIE DEERY spent Capsule Day on a tour of Philadelphia's murals. Some she shot from a moving car, others she got out and walked around, still others (such as "Common Threads" at Broad & Spring Garden, where she intersects with three other capsulers) she toured the whole neighborhood, and in one case (13th and Locust) interviewed artist Meg Seligman on the site of a mural in progress.

Julie went on a tour throughout the city apparently according to a map supplied by the Mural Arts Program.

Once that map is located this information will be filled in in greater detail.

For now here are a couple of spots on the Center City map, where Julie started out the day:

• Broad & Chestnut - Julie shoots some of the construction on one of the buildings, and down Chestnut Street, where there's more construction
• 13th & Locust - Julie finds a mural in progress and interviews the artist, Meg Seligman, about what the idea is and how it will look when it's done. • Robin's Books (13th & Sansom) - Julie muses over the exterior of this seminal bookstore, which some 45 minutes later, Vance will note is one of Isaiah Zagar's masterpieces.
