ELIOT DUHAN signed up for, and completed, three separate Capsule Day projects*:
Eliot covered these 16 blocks in around 20 minutes starting at 4:45 and ending at 5:05. At the corner of 5th and market he missed intersecting with Vance by a total of 10-15 seconds, as determined by common elements in both sets of footage.
Eliot and Dave MacDonnough took the camera on a trip from the Philadelphia Canoe club, where the Wissahickon spills into the Schuylkill, down to the Drexel Rowing Club, where the police substation is along Kelly Drive. Here is an animated GIF of some of those photos, which unfortunately get rather dark by the end of the trip.
Tyra drives, Eliot muses on what will be made of this footage by citizens of the future, and generally attempts to annoy everyone in the car. The route is down Ridge Ave. to Kelly Drive, then down the Parkway to 20th Street. At this point the car trip parallels Eliot's walking trip, above, except for the pedestrian route through the center of City Hall. Around the Liberty Bell, Eliot captures what may be Capsule Day's only intentionally upside-down travelling footage.
* The Capsule Day promotion site had a numbered list of potential projects that capsulers could sign up to do if they didn't have an idea of their own. These represent three of those projects.
