CAPSULE DAY received some press coverage before the event, and also on the day of the event itself. The proclamation ceremony (left) was videotaped by Action News (Channel 6) as well as Channel 17 and a half-dozen capsulers. Channel 6 included short pieces explaining Capsule Day to viewers on its 12:00 noon, 5:00 and 11:00 broadcasts.
Capsule Day's slogan - "Save the 20th Century" - was commemorated by Helen Leicht on WXPN's Leicht Lunch, an hour-long program whose theme on August 23, 1999 was "Saving," including songs such as "Save it for Later," "Save me," and "Your Saving Grace."
