CAPSULE DAY VIDEO SAMPLER

The aim of the video sampler was to select a bunch of bits from different people's Capsule Day travels and navigate through them (as one might, interactively) on the basis of links through themes, locations, visual echoes and so forth, just illustrating one path you might take throught the bounty of historic footage from this date. There's plenty of other ways I can imagine going, through a given theme or crossing the city in one direction or another, or going strictly chronologically, forward or backward. Those are just the beginning, of course.

Though there wasn't room for all of them, many of the locations casually documented here have already in 2003 taken on a signifcantly different aspect, whether predictably (murals, the hole-in-the-ground Kimmel Center, the Constitution Center and Visitors' Center) or unpredictably (American Appliance, Pier 34, LOVE park), and that's a why Capsule Day is here - to keep track of that stuff.
